"LOVE THIS GUN!!
Shots great, its hefty, pretty heavy. This gun is great for CQB. Gets lots of attention especially with the drum mag. I also purchased the regular magazines but could not find carriers for them. PCU tracer and drum mag are a must.

"This gun is so legendary and so much fun to play with! Each shot is so satisfying - watching a cloud of bbs fly at your opponent is amazingly satisfying. The range is much better than I expected for a shotgun, I would say probably the same range as an average CQB smg aeg. Using a 7.4v lipo, the gun is a bit sluggish with the rate of fire and response, but I'm not willing to risk an 11.1 lipo, not sure if the gearbox and wiring will handle it. The gun feels so great in your hands and the weight is nicely balanced. There are no wobbly parts and the gun feels like one solid piece, very nicely put together! It's cool how each barrel has its own hopup. I use .23 bbs and they seem to have good range and performance for this gun. I would 100% recommend this beast!

"This thing is a monster on the field. If you like shotguns, you will love an sgr12. It has great range for a shotgun, but is still a shotgun. Don't expect normal AEG ranges.
Pros:
-Insane BB output, tune the hopups for different spreads
-Is an automatic shotgun
-Is also a semi automatic shotgun
-Just is fun and works great honestly.
Cons
-HEAVY. It's very big. Slings are a must
-Chews through ammo. Get a drum mag.
-Battery space is very small, can only fit a 1000mah and that's gone in under 2 hours of gameplay. (seen some people run external pouches for larger batteries).
-Semi has a slowish rhythm to it with how the replica cycles
-Midcaps are massive. Double stack AK pouches barely fit them, but just get the drum mag.

"I ABSOLUTLY LOVE THIS GUN.
Pros
Nice weight and higher FPS than my friend's Marui SGR-12. Nice internals and has compatible magazine with Marui SGR-12
The three barrel design is pretty awesome you have to fire it!
Other than it's a bit heavy, no other cons!
In all this is a very good gun and uber fun, I recommend it!

"Had an absolute blast hauling this thing around, the fire rate is solid for what it is and the mid caps work flawlessly. The hardest part about running the gun is finding a battery that will fit the small battery compartment and if you can't get your hands on the drum mag then finding a way to carry extra midcaps can be a hassle. Also, if your field won't allow full auto, make sure that when your in single you fully pull the trigger each time, not fully pulling the trigger each time can cause some hiccups in the internals resulting in some really weak shots. Overall, if you have the funds to purchase an extra gun just for fun, this would be my recommendation, just be sure you don't mind carrying around some considerable weight.

"This gun is sort of heavy, well built, and extremely extremely satisfying and fun to shoot if you like firepower!

"HOLY GUACAMOLE, this big iron knocked my socks off. It sure is the bees knees. When my grandson first shot me with this on christmas morn, my timbers were shivered. There is much sophomoric behavior in my little sugar plums future.

"If you think you need this rifle, you need it, get it! Heck a lot of fun to wield and highly recommend.

"This thing is a beast. My first game using it, I put it on the ground said “This is too good” and went on using my pistol. The other team thanked me for that.
Pros:
3 bbs per shot is awesome! And wayyy more fun in full auto!
You will be the best on the field (if it is allowed at your field)
MLOK is awesome! You can put whatever you’d like on it!
3 different hop ups (1 for each barrel)
It has sling points which I’m very happy about!
It’s mostly metal which is a pro for me.
Cons:
It’s HEAVY!! If this thing wasn’t absolutely amazing I would not want to run it all day.
It’s ammo capacity. The mid cap it comes with feeds perfectly, however you get 32 trigger pulls and you are out of ammo. I do recommend getting the 3000 round drum mag. Yes it does fit. It’s what I use in it. Just know that this adds even more weight!
The battery compartment is a little small. It works but boy I wish I had more room for a bigger battery!

"Holy Cow! This thing is a absolute beast TokyoMarui better beware because they are in for a scare!
Pros:
•mlok full metal upper
•Solid build
•Great range for advertised fps
•Compatible with TokyoMarui mags and drum
•Can use 11.1 lipo and li-ion
•Similar if not better respond than TokyoMarui counterparts (with 11.1 lipo with 30c)
Cons:
The main issue is battery space (which is tighter than an g&g arp9
All in all a affordable (tri shot AEG) must have for any collection!

"The range is quite short and the bbs curve a lot but at close range you will shred everybody. And you NEED the drum mag for this gun no exceptions . The drum mag requires 3 triple a batteries and before you buy this keep in mind that the battery space is extremely small only about 5.5"by5.5" by 1" it is also super heavy and is like 14 pounds with the drum mag so get a sling or your arms will get tired. very fun but the range is very lacking

"I had this shotgun a week before having to return it, however I plan on purchasing another one soon to give it another chance. EMG and Evike have fantastic customer service and via email I was told to return or exchange the item to our local outpost. I did so and opted to spend more money to get the TM AA-12 to replace this unit.
The externals are beautifully machined and well finished. The gun had a nice heft to it and felt extremely well built. The battery compartment is accessed under the buttplate and it's a little small but still workable.
Though be warned do not run an 11v Lipo battery in this gun regardless of what the listed suggestion is. Using an 11V battery my example was not picking up and firing 3 bbs at a time. Often my shotgun would jam 8-12 bbs before expelling them all in a weak push or it would pick up 1 bb and fire it at an exaggerated trajectory.
I initially took the gun back to our outpost the next day to resolve the feed issue and together we figured out that the gun would only run perfectly on a 7.4V battery. With a 7.4v battery the SGR-12 was feeding from every magazine present including the Marui Drum which others have stated in reviews has spotty reliability with the SGR. Perhaps it's due to their choice of batteries? A sample size of 1 is not enough to establish good data and thus your experience with the AA-12 drum in this gun may vary.
I can confidently say though that an 11v Lipo battery is too much for this design. The Marui original calls for an 8.4v NiMh type battery and this should be adhered to if possible with the EMG as well as the EMG is a close copy of the Marui design. A 7.4V lipo battery is a suitable stand in the for 8.4V NiMh type if you cannot find one and in my experience will not damage an AES system as I've successfully used a 7.4V Lipo 1000 MAH battery in my AA-12 now for approximately 7500 rounds without issue.
Where my real problems began was after I was sent back home. Bear in mind the last time we fired this unit was with the 11 v battery prior to boxing it back up to confirm that the feed issue was related to the battery.
I charged up my new 7.4V lipo and decided to do some plinking. This is a fun gun to shoot at home so why not.
Immediately I noticed that my gun would no longer fire semi-automatic in the semi-automatic setting. I had safe, Full, and Full.
No odd chimes or error messages were presented by the CYMA platinum gearbox.
Being tech savvy I went to my box to look for the manual to see an exploded parts diagram. I figured the selector had come off of the selector plate or a trigger contact might have been loose. To my dismay I noticed that there was no manual included. This is unfortunately common with modern airsoft offerings and likely a cost cutting solution to keep prices low.
My next step was to email EMG asking if they had experienced the issue and if they had a parts diagram.
EMG must have forwarded my message to Evike as Evike customer support responded in a quick professional manner to my inquiry telling me to return the gun to the outpost for repair if out of warranty or exchange if within warranty. They did not have an exploded parts diagram for this unit. I opted for an exchange and I'll explain why in a bit.
In the mean time I scoured the internet and spoke with some other tech savvy people. Several pointed out that the built in mosfet or electronic trigger likely was fried by the 11v battery. I believe this issue to be solely in the electronics as the gun operated normally, just in full auto all the time.
There are videos showing the complete tear down of the Marui version of this gun. Be warned it's not for the faint of heart. I'm an apprenticed gunsmith with years of experience working with both airsoft and real weapons and not much scares me outside of electrical work. Watching a video on the complete tear down of an SGR-12 really put me off. It's an entire weekend project at best to simply disassemble and reassemble.
Do not attempt to open or work on this gun unless you are familiar with AES designs and have a good understanding of how this system works. This thing is alien compared to a V2 or V3 box. The trigger system is entirely electrical. There doesn't appear to be a mechanical trigger sled or trigger contact like there is on the original Marui V1/2/3 etc. boxes. Further the gearbox is a split two unit design unlike anything I've ever seen before.
Even changing the barrels out for tight bores with upgraded buckings looks like a daunting task. This is something you want to pay a tech who specializes in AES systems to do for you and you'll want to do that first thing with the EMG SGR-12 as at least on my example and a few others I've seen reviewed there is sometimes an over-hop problem encountered that can't be resolved through tuning the hopup. The only solution to this is replacement of the factory barrels & buckings.
While I'm slightly put off by some of the problems I had with this gun it's something I plan to buy again very soon. I only opted for the AA-12 over a replacement as I had a BoA out for delivery and didn't want to end up with two SGR-12s had I won that package. As I received a Krytac P90 (Thank you!) so I'll probably be picking up another SGR-12 this coming weekend.
AES systems turn heads at the field and are a blast to use. Buy with confidence. If it's not right Evike will make it right!

"Great gun when paired with the TM drum mag. Only complaint is all the bb’s fly up after about 100 feet. Adjusting the hop up doesnt seem to help. Good gun and lots of fun in CQ.

"Curious to other peoples battery usage. I used the suggest 7.4 1000mah battery but had to use an adapter from small tamiya on the battery to the deans of the replica. On semi there is no problems though it does sound rough on the gearbox. However, full auto runs about 2-3 burst before the FET makes a weird sound and requires the gun to be reset to safe before further shots can be taken. Same result happens upon reset. Also tried using an 11.1 1100mah battery also with the adapter and had the same results. I did find success switching to a 11.1 3000mah Titan battery that was wired to deans but I wouldn't always get 3 bbs to load and fire. Not sure that I have a lemon or if there's just battery connection issues I need to work out.
